The State requires certification as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). By completing the six online modules below prior to your Agency Orientation you will have begun the first phase. After your Orientation you will have three months to complete the remaining assigned modules.

Completion of the following modules, plus the live class, are required prior to working as a DSP in Maine:

• DSP Professionalism

• Individual Rights and Choices

• Introduction to Developmental Disabilities

• Maltreatment

• Reportable Events

• Grievance Process

There are multiple lessons within these modules.  Each lesson has a test.  You must score at least an 80 to pass.  If you do not pass a test you must wait 24 hours before re-taking it.  The Introduction lessons do not have tests.  These lessons must be completed prior to the Agency Orientation.
